I am a focused individual and I pride myself on being a friendly, professional and technically minded designer who has gained experiential skills by working within numerous design disciplines since 2015. I have an inherent passion for all things design/digital and I believe that a rewarding experience should involve a rich, customer-centric journey led by consistency & familiarity.
I can help you build your web project from the ground up. I can offer help from every stage of the process from design all the way through to a Content Managed or e-commerce website. Maybe I can help you out with your next project? In doing so my sites are future proofed and can easily adapt to changes. When your business grows, the website can to.
I follow accessibility best practices. Ensuring that websites I build are inclusive and cater for everyone, increasing your customer base and is beneficial to everybody. Having a highly accessible website also helps with SEO, making it easier for search engines to read the website.
First impression of your brand
With a little bit of technical know-how, you can quite honestly create a website for free using a template. Have a bit of cash spare and not much technical know-how? Well, you can pick up a basic WordPress theme for next to nothing (perhaps even free) change the text and the images and you have yourself a website.
For many, a website is good, providing it looks good. Therefore, when managing your business’s finances, it’s hard to justify thousands of pounds for a website that, in your eyes, your mates’ cousins son could build you for 50 quid. However, a website today is more than just the storefront of yesterday. It is the foundations, pillar, and control panel that has the potential to set you apart from your competitors.
One of the most significant limitations posed by template systems is the inability to expand and improve your website over time. If you want to say integrate your Sage accounts, your ERP system, CRM or barcoding system, etc, this can often be made overly-complicated or even impossible!
By the end of 2016, mobile web usage had overtaken desktop for the first time, which just goes to show how many people browse on smartphones and tablets instead of a laptop or desktop computer. your business needs a website that works well on a smartphone or other mobile device screens, due to the sheer amount of people who could be using your website through a smartphone or tablet.
a range of technical knowledge
As an experienced web designer, I know that every website has to be fresh, appealing and easy to navigate. But it also has to function as a well-oiled marketing machine, attracting visitors and converting them into customers. Together I'm confident we can create something visually beautiful and functionally superb that will take your business to the next level.
Good website design is not just about the quality of the build and the accuracy of the code – although that is crucial too. It’s about bringing together all the elements – layout, structure, images and content – to create an engaging digital experience for the customer.
This can only be achieved by working closely with clients from start to finish. From our first contact, together we’ll grow and develop your hopes, objectives and vision to create an effective business relationship as well as a website that is head and shoulders above the rest.
I am a highly-motivated and proactive designer, I thrive in dynamic, transparent and proactive working environments where I thoroughly enjoy being a part of a team. I am also extremely productive when working autonomously.
What I can do
Creating efficient, fast and user-friendly websites is every bit as important to me as creating beautiful, hand-crafted designs. Usability, speed and aesthetics are all high priorities to me when developing and designing. Every project I build is a mobile responsive website, so your content will always be served in the best possible way to your audience.
Since leaving school at 16, I've spent the last 4 years learning industry level software and website development skills. I've also completed both the QA Apprenticeship Software Development Technician C# Level 3 and 4 courses - which gave me the skills to progress my web development & programming further.
Past Achievements and Honours
2019 I decided to launch my very own website as a portfolio for potential clients to learn a little bit more about myself and view some of my previous work. I also celebrated 4 years at my current company.
2018 I finished all my QA Apprenticeship courses. I completed the level 3, 4 and 5 which was the equivalent to a degree level. I feel the courses have given me the skills and confidence to excel in my software developer job.
2017 saw me jet off to Perth Australia for 6 months of cricket, sun and...work! I was lucky enough to be able to continue my work overseas while also playing cricket in Perth over the Australian summer. Meaning I was able to enhance my skills while enjoying the fantastic Australian weather.
